В поисках идентичности: университетский музей как исследовательская проблема (1960-е гг. — 2020 г.)

Данная статья посвящена реконструкции исследовательского осмысления понятия «университетский музей». Университетские музеи возникли еще в конце XVII столетия как научные кабинеты для обучения студентов. С течением времени их статус менялся: они стали доступными для широкой публики и превратились в своеобразную «витрину» университетских достижений. В статье проанализированы дискуссии в европейской, американской и отечественной историографии второй половины ХХ — начала XXI в., посвященные обсуждению уникальности университетских музеев и проблем, с которыми они сталкиваются. В западной историографии, рассматривающей университетский музей в русле современных тенденций развития социогуманитарного знания, сформулированы проблемные поля, в рамках которых может быть проанализирована деятельность университетских музеев: соотношение в них университетского и публичного (в том числе вопросы различия между университетскими и публичными музеями), профессионализация их сотрудников, степень зависимости выставочной политики от общества и государства, рассмотрение университетских музеев через призму культурного и национального наследия. Российская историография, в свою очередь, носит скорее прикладной и презентационный характер. Теоретическое осмысление проблем университетских музеев спровоцировало появление национальных и международных ассоциаций университетских музеев в Европе, США и СССР/России (Международный комитет университетских музеев и коллекций, Ассоциация академических музеев и галерей США, Группа университетских музеев в Англии, Научно-методический центр университетских музеев Евразийской ассоциации университетов, Ассоциация музеев высших учебных заведений Санкт-Петербурга), посвященных решению практических вопросов и популяризации университетских коллекций.
