Risks of art-therapy for disabled people and museums: The Russian experience

The article is devoted to consideration of existing risks for disabled people and museums in the implementation of projects in art therapy. The article aims to draw the attention of the Russian museum community to the lack of theoretical elaboration of methodologies to prove the need for consultation and supervision of physicians during the work with disabled people in the museum. A leading approach to the study of this problem was the conduct of comparative analysis of humanitarian and medical approaches. Conducted analysis of definitions, purposes and content of art therapy, Russian and foreign systems of training, art therapists’ experience in the implementation of art therapy programs allows you to put the question about the necessity of cooperation of the museum and clinical centers working with the disabled. The article will allow you to adjust already existing programs to work with disabled people in the museum and become a subject of scientific debate.
