About the Journal

"The Issues of Museology" is an international, interdisciplinary peer-reviewed journal, the purpose of which is to publish high-quality, original, conceptual works in the field of museology and the sphere of protection of cultural and natural heritage. The preference is given to the publication of papers, containing new information and concepts or a fundamentally new interpretation of already known scholar problems of museology, the history of museology and the museum field. The journal seeks to reflect the breadth and variety of approaches, schools and trends that have developed in modern museology, to contribute to the consolidation of the creative efforts of researchers-museologists.

The periodical aims to create an independent platform for intellectual discussions of world experts.

The Journal pursues the following priorities:
— furtherance of cutting edge research in the field of museology and the sphere of protection of cultural and natural heritage;
— identifying and investigating insufficiently explored areas of scholarship;
— forming novelty approaches to methodology;
— exploring and introducing new sources;
— interdisciplinary studies noted for their scholarly relevance, quality and originality.

The Journal is published in two issues per year.

The working languages of the Journal are both English and Russian. Publication of materials in the English language is and will be prioritized, as it serves to integrate the Journal within the international academic community.

The editorial board of the international journal "The Issues of Museology" adheres to the principles of publication ethics accepted by the international community, reflected, in particular, in the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the Guide on ethics of scientific publications (Publishing Ethics Resource Kit) developed by publishing house Elsevier.

All manuscripts are formatted in compliance with the world standards and are furnished with abstracts, keywords and references. Since 2018, DOI names have been assigned to all the papers published in the Journal.

Our publishing is performed at no charge to the author.

All content is available on an open access basis.
